Pushing the boundaries of the LHCb rare decays program: search for the Lambdab to Lambda gamma decay

Rare decays of heavy hadrons, which involve FCNC, are an excellent benchmark to search for effects of beyond the Standard Model physics. Efficient trigger algorithms are key for the study of these decays. An inclusive trigger selection for b radiative decays has been developed for the Run 2 of LHCb, providing significant improvements both in signal efficiencies and rate reduction. Using the data recorded during 2016, a seach for the previously unobserved Lb-->Lz gamma mode, which gives access to the measurement of the photon polarisation, has been performed. As a complementary work, the feasibility of observing the Ks --> pipiee decay has been studied with promising results.
