Any Internacional de l'Astronomia

The year 2009 was declared by the UNESCO as the International Year of Astronomy (IYA). For this reason plenty activities related with Astronomy are taking place at global and regional levels. The ICC participates in the following activities:

Poster of the International Year of Astronomy at the Physics Faculty building

The ICC, in collaboration with the ICE, has design and produced a 6 m x 8 m poster which is hung at the Physics Faculty and can be seen from the Diagonal Avenue.

 

Web of the International Year of Astronomy at Catalonia

The regional web http://www.astronomia2009.cat has been created to inform about the activities related with the IYA at Catalonia.

 

3, 4 and 5 April: 100 Hours of Astronomy

100 Hours of Astronomy was a global astronomy event that took place from the 2th to 5th of April. In particular, the ICC collaborated in the organization of the "Nights of the stars", which consisted in observations with telescope of the sky at High Schools and public squares.
