Transportation in Barcelona

Barcelona can be reached from most of the major International airports. The airport is located 12 kilometres towards the south of the city. From the airport, you can reach the city by taxi (Journey time: 20'-30', price: 30-35 euro), by an express bus service (Aerobus A1 and Aerobus A2, for Terminals 1 and 2, respectively. Journey time: 35', tickets: 5.30 euro for one-way and 9.15 euro for round-trip), and by RENFE train to either Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gracia stations (Journey time: 25', tickets: 3.15 euro or using the card "T10 (Zone 1)", see below). Note that the train station is based at terminal T2. Most probably, you will be arriving at terminal T1. A free shuttle bus runs continuously between terminals T1 and T2.

The city of Barcelona has a very efficient integrated public transportation system. The transport card "T10 (Zone 1)" for 10 trips (9.25 euro) can be bought at subway stations or at the train station of the airport. It may be used indistinctly in the Metro, FGC subway, RENFE train or Barcelona buses, and allows an unlimited number of transfers in Zone 1 during 1h 15'. The "T10 (Zone 1)" card is also valid on the RENFE train from and to the airport.
