A two-year postdoctoral position in the fields of Theoretical High Energy Physics, Gravitation and Cosmology is now open at the University of Barcelona. The selected candidate must join our group before November 1, 2010. This position is partially funded by the Spanish National Centre for Particle, Astroparticle and Nuclear Physics (CPAN).
The deadline for applications is October 21, 2009 --- the official CPAN deadline is October 31, but our group will make a pre-selection of candidates.
The faculty members at our group include David d'Enterria, Roberto Emparan, Domènec Espriu, Tomeu Fiol, Lluis Garrido, Jaume Garriga, Joaquim Gomis, María C. Gonzalez-García, Ricardo Graciani, Eugeni Grauges, Jaume Guasch, José I. Latorre, David Mateos, Federico Mescia, Josep M. Pons, Jorge Russo, Joan Solà, Joan Soto, Josep Tarón, and Enric Verdaguer. For more information, visit our websites http://www.ffn.ub.es/gcg/, http://www.ecm.ub.es/hep/ and http://icc.ub.edu/.
Interested candidates should follow these instructions:
Download here the scientific record of our group, which you will need to upload later at the CPAN website.
Go to the CPAN website.
http://www.i-cpan.es/intranet/users/login
and sign up as a new user (green bar on the left-hand side, under "INTRANET").
When you receive the confirmation email giving you access to the application form, log in, click on "New Application" and select "Universidad de Barcelona" as your host institution. A table will appear. The position you are interested in is that with the reference CPAN09-PD01-2. Click on "Send my application" to proceed. You will be required to ask for three reference letters, which the referees will have to upload. You will also have to upload a file with the scientific record of the hosting subgroup, which you can download from the link above. Finally, from the drop-down list under "Scientist from CPAN signature list that supports your application", you must select a member of our group. Note that not all members of our group are in this list. You must select the member from the list whose research is the closest to yours.
Please do not write directly to the supporting scientist, as direct emails will not be answered. The scientist will receive an email from CPAN with the request to support your application. You must finish your application without waiting for confirmation of this support. Starting on October 21 our group will make a short-list of applications, and only these will be supported.
