I obtained my PhD on theoretical nuclear physics at the University of Barcelona in 2010 and won a competitive two-year grant (PostDoc) to work at the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). In 2013 I was offered a tenured track position in 2013 at the University of Milan and became Associate Professor in 2020. Finally, I have been awarded the prestigious «Beatriz Galindo» senior position at the University of Barcelona. My research has been focused on the study of the nuclear equation of state (EoS) –i.e. a specific region of the QCD phase diagram. I have been most interested in the ground and excited state properties of the atomic nucleus as a doorway to better understand the EoS. I have also been actively involved in nuclear astrophysics applications, most of them devoted to the physics of neutron stars. I have been teaching at the Bachelor and Master Degree in Physics in Milan, directed (or co-directed) 9 Master Thesis and 22 Bachelor Thesis as well as 4 PhD thesis.
