Objectives

Specialized training

The MSc degree in Astrophysics, Particle Physics and Cosmology provides students with advanced academic training in the fields of Astrophysics, Space Sciences, Atomic, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Gravitation and Cosmology. This training will allow you:

  • to acquire the skills and abilities needed to form part of a research group in these areas
  • to undertake doctoral studies in the abovementioned fields
  • to start working at a company dedicated to research in these areas
  • to critically argue, issue judgements and present new ideas on the basis of the analysis of information originating from these scientific areas
  • to continue with the learning process in these subjects, to a large extent autonomously

Comprehensive training

 Students of this master are also expected to acquire the following general and cross-curricular skills:

  • Ability to solve complex problems within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.
  • Ability to identify new research issues or developing existing ones further.
  • Critical ability to formulate new interpretative proposals based on existing facts.
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise scientific information at an advanced level.
  • Ability to communicate the knowledge acquired and the contributions of one’s research accurately and clearly, both orally and in writing, in English language.
  • IT knowledge.
