Past successes of gravitational lensing in all three regimes, strong, weak and micro, are outstanding. After introducing gravitational lensing I will review some of its past achievements and explore how this fortunate gift from nature can be used (among many other things) to do precise cosmological measurements and help us understand galaxy evolution, the Initial Mass Function, galaxy substructures, quasar inner structure and study the co-evolution of quasars and their host galaxy. I will then turn on the bright future of the field in the context of the Euclid, Rubin-LSST surveys and of the Chinese Space Station Telescope, in particular when combined with Gaia.
