Presentation

The Institute of Cosmos Sciences (ICC) of the University of Barcelona is an interdisciplinary center which is devoted to fundamental research in the field of cosmology, paying also attention to the technological applications of the sciencies of the cosmos in general. It gathers researchers from the departments of Astronomy and Meteorology, Structure and Constituents of Matter, Fundamental Physics, Applied Mathematics, Organic Chemistry and Electronics. Its objectives are:

Foster collaboration among the different areas of research constituting the ICC.
Promote experimental and instrumental activity in the particle,astroparticle and nuclear physics, astrophysics and space sciences.
Make possible a significant participation of the University of Barcelona in large international collaborations.
Attract highly qualified scientific personnel.
Support high quality teaching through the Masters and Ph. D. programs.
To contribute to the general diffusion of science and the scientific knowledge in the areas of the ICC.
