The 2+1-dimensional black hole can be seen as a locally Lorentz-flat geometry. By exploiting the isomorphism between the Lorentz and the SU(2) group, the black hole can be endowed with a locally flat but globally non-trivial SU(2) connection. Some features of the supersymmetric character of the configuration and the theory where these solutions are found will also be discussed.
