This course, organized by Josep M. Solanes (ICCUB) and conducted by ICCUB members, aims to provide people interested in astronomy basic but strict information on the current vision of the Universe. Throughout the sessions, we will emphasize the latest and spectacular developments (discoveries of new planets outside the solar system, the accelerated expansion of the universe, etc.) occurred in one of the most dynamic fields of knowledge.
