Top-quark phenomenology is one of the main fields of investigation in both theoretical and experimental particle physics.
I will discuss bottom-quark fragmentation in top decays, which is one of the main sources of uncertainty in the measurement of its properties. I will present results on b-quark and B-hadron spectra according to QCD resummed calculations and Monte Carlo event generators, taking particular care about the inclusion of hadronization corrections.
The impact on the top mass reconstruction will be investigated and the perspectives for improving the presented analyses by using the recent NNLO computations, NLO+shower and C++ codes will be debated.
