Abstract: Traditional particle detectors face significant challenges when targeting elusive particles, as their sensitivity is often limited by energy deposition thresholds. Hence, these experiments could be missing surprisingly large (Born enhanced) rates in the regime of low momentum transfers (low q2 bins) when the interaction between the background and the target is coherent. In this talk, we will discuss how quantum sensors such as a spatial superposition of an atom cloud (atom interferometer) could capture the subtle signatures of elusive particles, either from the Standard Model or Beyond Standard Model, through collisional decoherence effects.
