Effective field theory approach to top-quark physics at NLO accuracy

Topquark processes potentially suffer from a large uncertainty at leading order inQCD. To search for new physics in top quark processes, it is desirable to havea model-independent approach at the NLO accuracy. Effective field theoryprovides a framework in which the radiative corrections to new interactions canbe consistently included, but the analysis can be complicated due to operatormixing effects. I will discuss the effective field theory approach to top-quarkphysics, with a focus on NLO calculation. In particular I will present itsapplications in precision electroweak tests, in top-quark decay processes andin top-quark FCNC production.
