I will present a detailed study of double Higgs production via gluon fusion in the effective field theory framework. I will show that, in addition to the extraction of the Higgs trilinear coupling, this process can also provide useful information on several other Higgs interactions, most noticeably the ones involving the top quark. As an explicit application, I will focus on the hh -> bb gamma gamma channel and I will provide an estimate of the achievable precision at the 14 TeV LHC and at a future 100 TeV hadronic collider.
