Effective Field Theories (EFT) are a useful tool to analyze and compare different New Physics searches in a model-independent way. Moreover, they can be used to reinterpret any given SM test as a constraint on the New Physics parameter space. I will discuss its application to different cases, such as nuclear beta decay, semileptonic kaon decays or Higgs physics. The necessary QCD input will be also discussed with some detail.
