Supersymmetric localization is a technique that allows to compute exactly certain observables of supersymmetric quantum field theories. In the first part of this talk, I will provide a very basic introduction to localization, starting with ordinary integrals. In the second part of the talk, I will present an overview of recent work, that uses localization to characterize heavy probes coupled to quantum field theories.
