In this talk we will get into the heart of the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. We will review the latest results recently published using the unprecedented astrometric accuracies of GaiaEDR3, focusing on the challenges to disentangle the 3D structure, revealing the internal kinematics and the tidal interaction between them. We will also review some recent works using ancillary datasets and outline the perspective of future research lines.
