The spatial clustering and kinematics of young stars provide insights into star formation and star cluster assembly. Survey data that covers large segments of the Galaxy have recently improved our understanding of the distributions of young stellar objects on scales ranging from star-forming complexes to Galactic spiral arms. Recent Gaia results have shown that many of the nearby star-forming regions are part of larger scale structures, and I will highlight new results about a distinct ~kpc-long structure within the Sagittarius Arm of the Galaxy containing several massive star-forming regions. Gaia also provides the ability to examine kinematics of stars within young star clusters at the sub-km/s level. These results indicate that most young stellar systems are dynamically hot, which can be explained by changes in the gravitational potential energy of a star-forming region after the dispersal of molecular clouds by stellar feedback. Comparison of the velocity structure of molecular clouds to the kinematics of the stars suggests that these are linked.
