GAMMA-400 Workshop

Date
This workshop is dedicated to exploring the possibility of expanded Spanish participation in the future GAMMA-400 space observatory (an international collaboration led by Russia and Italy). The mission will combine the ability to study high-energy gamma rays with excellent angular and energy resolution, and precision high-statistics Cosmic-ray measurements of the all-electron component up to TeV energies, as well as the spectra of protons and nuclei up to the knee region. Representatives of the GAMMA-400 collaboration will attend the meeting to present the scientific objectives of the mission, details of the various detector systems onboard, along with the current status of the schedule and development of the payload. There will also be presentations by members of the Spanish astroparticle-physics community on the technical and scientific interests of the community in participating further in such an endeavor as GAMMA-400. The workshop will take place over two days at the University of Barcelona and will consist of dedicated talks by visiting INFN staff and various members of IFAE and UB amongst others, along with open discussions between the various interested parties in clarifying how Spanish participation in the project may manifest itself in the future.
