Abstract: The advent of precision cosmology in the last decade has brought some non-negligible tensions between cosmological observations and LambdaCDM onto the stage. The Hubble tension has already reached approximately 5 sigma confidence level and continues to increase. Meanwhile, the growth tension has remained stable at 2-3 sigma confidence level. If these mismatches are not caused by unaccounted systematic errors in the data, they could suggest the need for physics beyond the standard model.

In the first part of my talk, I will review the phenomenological conditions required in the late-time universe to alleviate the Hubble tension. I will delve into the pivotal role played by data on baryon acoustic oscillations in these analyses.

The second part of my presentation will be devoted to studying the performance of some cosmological models with an impact around the recombination epoch, with a focus on early dark energy.
