The Efimov Effect has been predicted by V. Efimov in 1971. More than 35 years after its prediction this effect was confirmed experimentally. In the regime in which the scattering length of two particles is large with respect to the interaction range, the three-body system present universal behavior, very different systems in structure and scale as three nucleons or three atoms can be described using the formalism derived by Efimov. In particular at the unitary limit, when the scattering length diverges, an infinite number of excited states appears geometrical distributed. This is the Efimov effect. In the present talk I will discuss the behavior of the three-boson system close to the unitary limit. The case of 1/2-spin-isospin fermions will be discussed as well. In particular it will be shown that the behavior of those systems can be described using a two-parameter soft potential. The behavior of these systems as the number of particles increases will be illustrated.
