Courtesy advances in technology and the benign thermal environment of space, satellite missions such as Spitzer, Herschel and WISE have led to vast improvements in our ability map do sensitive, wide-area maps of the sky at infrared wavelengths. I will focus on the Spitzer Deep, Wide-Field Survey (SDWFS), a 250 hour Spitzer legacy survey of ten square degrees in the Bootes high Galactic latitude field. The science afforded by SDWFS is diverse, ranging from the discovery of the coldest brown dwarfs to studying distant galaxy clusters and tracking the cosmic history of obscured supermassive black hole growth. The four epochs that make up SDWFS permit -- for the first time -- the selection of infrared-variable and high proper motion objects over a wide field on timescales of years. SDWFS is sensitive to typical massive galaxies out to early cosmic epochs with relatively little impact from cosmic variance for all but the richest systems. In particular, we have identified >100 galaxy clusters at z>1 in the Bootes field. These systems are useful for studying early-type galaxy formation, understanding cluster formation, constraining cosmological models of structure formation, and as targets for high-redshift supernova studies. I will end by discussing future prospects for wide-field infrared imaging from space, ranging from WISE in the near-term to future mission concepts such as Euclid and WFIRST towards the end of the decade.
