Recently, it has been claimed that in canonical inflationary models, an inflection in the inflationary potential would produce a large resonance in the primordial power spectrum of curvature perturbations. I will show that this result is generically incorrect. The main problem of previous analysis is that the inflaton is over-shot from a stage of standard inflation while rolling-down from the pre-inflection potential. This over-shot greatly suppress the power spectrum before the amplification is active, thus resulting into a very small resonance. By using the Gravitationally Enhanced Friction mechanism, I explicitly show how to reduce the over-shooting problem and obtain the required magnitude of the power spectrum.
