ENG: Engaging school children with cutting edge physics and technology has led to the development of a school research institute where students contribute in space science, particle physics and now across the sciences. The talk will discuss what students have achieved and how the approach of genuine involvement in cutting edge science is empowering and inspiring for both student and teacher.

CAT: Becky Parker, fundadora i directora del Centre per la Recerca a les Escoles (Institute for Research in Schools, IRIS) presentarà aquesta iniciativa mitjançant la qual, estudiants de secundària participen en projectes de recerca en física de partícules, ciències de l'espai, biologia i d'altres camps. Actualment més de 400 escoles, la majoria del Regne Unit, participen en aquest programa. En la conferència ens parlarà del que han assolit els estudiants que han participat en els programes del IRIS i de com la metodologia aplicada inspira tan a alumnes com a professors.
