The LHC data has brought a new perspective on our understanding of particle physics. The successful discovery of a Higgs boson has been complemented with strong constraints on physics beyond the Standard Model, pushing in many cases the scale of new physics above the TeV. An overview of the present status is presented, together with a discussion of possible scenarios to be tested at the next LHC run.
