The Year of Maria Assumpció Català: Central Commemorative Event

The Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB) is honoured to participate in the main commemorative event marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Maria Assumpció Català i Poch (1925–2009), a pioneering Catalan mathematician and astronomer.

This event is the central celebration of the Year of Maria Assumpció Català i Poch, officially declared by the Government of Catalonia, and is jointly organised by the Catalan Institute for Women, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, and the University of Barcelona.

Held at the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec, home to the telescope that bears her name, the event will include:
