After four years of tenure, Dr Jordi Miralda is stepping down from his role as the Scientific Director of the ICCUB, passing the baton to Dr Licia Verde, who will take the reins for the next four years. The ICCUB expresses deep gratitude for his contribution to the growth of the Institute during his tenure and warmly welcomes Dr Licia Verde to her new role as the Scientific Director, trusting that her leadership will usher in a future marked by continued success and scientific achievement.

Dr. Miralda has served as the Scientific Director since 2018 and has played a pivotal role in guiding the Institute through a period of significant achievements. Notably, under his administration, the Institute attained again the prestigious recognition as a Center of Excellence María de Maeztu by the Science Ministry. His approach and dedication were crucial in boosting and developing the Institute's projects, facilitating collaboration with numerous scientists, anés equilibradesd attracting young researchers to join the ICCUB community.
 

As the Institute bids farewell to Dr. Miralda, it eagerly welcomes Dr Verde, also an ICREA researcher at the University of Barcelona, as the new Scientific Director. Dr. Verde brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and the Institute is confident in her ability to lead with distinction. The ICCUB community looks forward to a new chapter under Dr. Verde's guidance, anticipating continued growth, innovation, and scientific excellence.
