The student of the Astrophysics, Particle Physics and Cosmology Master’s at the University of Barcelona, Judit Donada Oliu, has received the Award for Best Final Master's Thesis (TFM) defended during the academic year 2021/22 by the Institute of Space Sciences of Catalonia (IEEC).

The award is a recognition to notable work in the IEEC’s research lines: astrophysics, cosmology, Earth observation, navigation and space Technology. In this case, the recognition was bestowed to the thesis “The multiplicity fraction in 324 open clusters from Gaia”, which aims estimate the multiplicity fraction of high-mass ratio main-sequence multiple systems in Galactic open clusters and was carried out under the supervision of researchers from the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB), Dr. Carme Jordi Nebot and Dr. Friedrich Anders.

The prize includes 500€ and an offer to fund the enrolment costs of Judit’s first doctoral year, to encourage the awardee to continue her work in the field of astronomy.
