The Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona seeks applicants for a full-time research assistant with a 1-year contract with the intention to continue to a PhD. The research may cover axion dark matter models, gravitational microlensing and cosmological simulations of Local Group formation, depending on interests.

The appointed researcher will be ascribed to the Department of Quantum Physics and Astrophysics (FQA) and to the Institute of Cosmos Sciences (ICCUB), a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence. Overall, the FQA and ICCUB host about 180 staff working in all aspects of cosmological sciences, leading to a vibrant fundamental research program in cosmology, astrophysics, nuclear and particle physics.

Employment conditions

The appointment is initially a full-time contract (20 hours per week) for 11 months. The expected start date is September 2025.

Gross annual salary will be 16.300€ per year, includes social security and public health care benefits, covering spouse and children.
