My research lines rest at the intersection of nuclear and particle physics, with the goal of better understanding relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Specifically, I have specialized in the study of medium effects, kinetic theory, and transport phenomena in strongly interacting plasmas. This requires a combination of statistical and many-body physics, along with a microscopic description of matter using relativistic effective field theories. I have dedicated many efforts to improve the description of heavy flavor in the hadronic phase and to establish the connection between microscopic physics and the consistent derivation of kinetic and transport equations from many-body dynamics. I gained international postdoctoral experience in various institutions, including the Institute of Space Sciences (CSIC - UAB - IEEC), Bellaterra (Spain) between 2012 & 2014; Subatech Laboratory (École des Mines de Nantes - CNRS - Université de Nantes), Nantes (France) between 2014 & 2016; the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies between 2016 & 2017, Frankfurt am Main, Germany; Stony Brook University, New York, U.S.A. , between 2017 & 2019; and Goethe University Frankfurt between 2019 & 2021.
