The Institute of Cosmos Sciences (ICCUB) is showing its support to the upcoming "Ciències en Perill" rally scheduled for Wednesday April 9th at 6 PM at Plaça Sant Jaume (in front of the Generalitat de Catalunya building) to protest against the proposed merger of the Physics and Chemisty subjects in high school curricula, which we believe will impact the quality of scientific education.

The "Ciències en Perill" platform advocates for maintaining high standards in scientific education in public schools. The ICCUB joined the platform on January 2025, showing our believe that a robust science education is essential for developing informed and critical-thinking individuals, especially in an era where misinformation and pseudoscientific theories are prevalent. 

With this rally, the platform aims to raise awareness about the importance of specialized science education and to advocate for policies that ensure students receive comprehensive and rigorous training in scientific disciplines. It is a call to action for educators, students, and the general public to stand together in defense of quality science education. Your involvement is crucial in amplifying our voices and advocating for the scientific education that the Catalan society deserves.
